Desktop and Laptop Computers
Student Use Agreement
Please keep in mind that using the computer is a privilege, not a right. Treat it with the same responsibility you would your personal computer. Use common sense and be aware of your surroundings. Unintentional misuse is just as damaging as intentional misuse. Remember—a damaged computer is worthless.
I agree to the following:
r Handle the equipment carefully and follow all rules. (Vandalism will not be tolerated.)
r Stay on task and follow directions.
r Never leave the computer unattended.
r Keep all food, drinks, pencils, pens, etc. away from the computer.
r Never download any files onto the computer without teacher permission.
r Never change the desktop, views, languages, dock, etc. of the computer.
r Report any problems immediately to the teacher.
r Place the computer on a flat surface when using it (no stacking laptops).
r When carrying a laptop, make sure the lid is closed and you use BOTH hands.
r Ask permission before printing.
r Laptop computers are not to be loaned out or taken off campus.
r Do not add or remove any hardware (i.e. mouse, keyboard, headphones, storage device, etc.) without teacher permission.
r At the end of the working period:
o Follow logout or shutdown procedures given by the teacher
I Understand that: Computers that are accidentally or intentionally misused or abused have a negative effect for all students, not just those who abused them. Problems ranging from lost files and computer time to expensive repairs can arise from misuse. For this reason, consequences assigned to those responsible for improper use or care of the computer will range from lunch detention to possible suspension or expulsion and may include loss of computer privileges on a part-time or full-time basis.
